The intro overstays its welcome, and the editing during the rap section feels disjointed and poorly executed. The foundation is there, but the presentation undermines it.
Love and Devotion — 3/10
The vocal clarity is a major issue — the lyrics are nearly impossible to discern, giving the entire track a chaotic, unintelligible feel. Intentional or not, it makes the song very difficult to appreciate.
Slave to the DJ — 5/10
This track shows the most promise. The shift in energy works, but the mix has serious problems: vocals are buried, stereo placement is distracting, and the overall imbalance pulls focus from the songwriting. When it does click, it’s enjoyable, but those moments are buried under technical issues.
Boxing Ring — 6/10
A noticeable improvement over the earlier tracks. The opening still suffers from vocal suppression, and the deeper vocal effect is a miss, but the second half demonstrates stronger structure and atmosphere. One of the more cohesive pieces on the EP.
Finding Grace — 4/10
Once again, the vocals are nearly inaudible, which is especially frustrating given how atmospheric and warm the instrumental is. The song has emotional potential that the mix simply cannot support.
Deep End — 4/10
The opening hits sharply enough to be uncomfortable, and the vocal intelligibility remains a recurring problem. The mood is compelling, but the execution keeps it from landing.

Dance has a clear aesthetic and emotional direction, and the instrumentation often hints at something genuinely compelling. Unfortunately, the persistent mixing issues — especially with vocal clarity and stereo balance — consistently sabotage the listening experience. With cleaner production and more intentional vocal placement, this EP could transform from frustrating to memorable. As it stands, the ideas are strong, but the execution isn’t ready yet.
